The study argues that political satire helps to confront and lampoon political anomalies as an effort to dissuade political leaders from political corruption while, remarkably, pursuing political integrity and conscientious leadership. The primary texts for the study are Wole Soyinka's A Play of Giants (1984) and Dario Fo's Mistero Buffo (1988). Engaging the works of these two winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature calls for a close and meticulous study of the primary texts. A Play of Giants, as a single drama piece, is closely engaged in this study. Mistero Buffo is a scripted drama sketch. The study examines three play-lets in the collection known as The Comic Mysteries. The study concludes that both Soyinka and Fo drive their audiences towards resisting all forms of tyranny, political oppression, and a possible equitable world.
