This study examined the awareness and use of AI tools for teaching and learning business education at Kwara universities. A descriptive research approach of cross-sectional sampling technique was adopted to select 16 lecturers and 252 students at Kwara universities in Nigeria.
The research instrument employed for the study was questionnaire. This instrument has a reliability coefficient of 0.70. The research sets out to find answers to two main questions along with formulated hypotheses that were tested at 0.05 alpha. The research question was answered descriptively using mean and SD while the two hypotheses were tested using t-tests and PPMC. The findings revealed a moderate level of awareness of AI tools among both groups, but a very low actual use. The t-test results showed no significant difference in awareness levels between students and lecturers. In the same vein, the PPMC indicated a significant positive relationship between awareness and use of AI tools. It was therefore concluded that substantial students and lecturers realize the potential of AI tools as their transformative influence in the learning process. The study recommends frequent training sessions for lecturers and business education students that emphasize the use of available teaching and learning tools and technologies. These sessions should incorporate hands-on activities, demonstrating how these tools can be applied in business education to enhance teaching techniques and boost student participation.
